"IN THE HALLS FOR ALL"
Welcome to "PAC The Gallery," an initiative by the South Carolina Equity Political Action Committee, aimed at transforming civic engagement in South Carolina. This is not about art galleries but about filling the political galleries of our government with the voices of the people.
In response to the 2024 general election’s setbacks, this program serves as the ultimate community engagement tool, focusing on collective empowerment to drive actionable change.
Our mission is to bridge the gap between South Carolinians and their government by fostering a culture of proactive civic involvement. "PAC The Gallery" is about showing up for each other in a way that requires no funding, bells, or whistles—only commitment. We seek to empower citizens with knowledge, presence, and consistency to hold elected officials accountable.
OUR PURPOSE
South Carolina's civic engagement has been low for too long. Voter turnout is dismal, and many feel disconnected from the political systems that impact their daily lives. "PAC The Gallery" seeks to change that by increasing citizens' understanding of their rights and enabling them to engage meaningfully with government processes. Our goal is to create a visible, consistent presence in the government galleries, both online and in person, to ensure our voices are heard.
THE PATH FORWARD
This initiative is not about elaborate planning or large budgets; it’s about knowing the dates, times, and places of government sessions and showing up. Whether you use lunch breaks, PTO, or a few hours of vacation time, your presence in the chambers matters. Protests on the streets have limited impact if the government chambers are empty. "PAC The Gallery" calls for consistent visibility where decisions are made.
